Figure 3. Three Design Concepts

Design 1.
Pros:
- No 3D printer required
- Quick and simple design
Cons:
- Very questionable aerosol filtration efficiency
- Difficult to replace N95 mask after use

Design 2.
Pros:
- Able to easily  replace the N95 mask cut out after its recommended lifetime
- Reusable in the long run
Cons:
- In need of a 3D printer

Design 3.

Pros:
- No 3D printer required
- Straight forward design

Cons:

- Very questionable aerosol filtration efficiency
- Difficult to drill air holes
- Difficult to replace N95 mask after use

Design 2 is superior over its other competitors due to the fact that the user is able to easily replace the N95 mask after use. This is crucial because the entire product’s lifespan depends on how efficiently it can filter out aerosols. People are required to frequently throw out their used N95 mask, thus being able to easily replace the mask is crucial.

Repurposed Product:
The Vaincre 180° Full Face Snorkel Mask with Panoramic View Anti-Fog, Anti-Leak with Adjustable Head Straps offers precisely what it states in its long name. The full face mask has little visual obstruction which allows its user freedom and comfortability whilst protecting the eyes, nose, and mouth of a person by creating an airtight seal necessary for hindering viral infection. The visor is also resistant to fog, reducing the chance a person touches their face while attempting to adjust the snorkel mask.

DFA Analysis for the Repurposed Product:

The assembly initially contained 13 different parts. However, after the DFA (Design for Assembly) analysis, three parts were ruled out to be non essential. Therefore, the theoretical minimum number of parts in the assembly are 10 parts. The scuba diving mask itself is mostly all reused, therefore it is not necessary to combine any parts, as it would risk the air tight seal ensured by the original manufacturers.
