The conventional face mask used by the public has its limitations. For instance, achieving a perfect seal is nearly impossible, giving the virus an entry point into the human system. Furthermore, the conventional face mask often causes glasses to fog which causes users to constantly adjust the face mask and ultimately touch their faces. These issues may be resolved by repurposing a scuba diving mask that is able to completely enclose a person’s face. A scuba diving mask is very useful in combating this global pandemic due to the fact that it can ensure that there is only one entry point between the respiratory system and the surrounding environment. This project will revolve around building a safer and more effective face mask focused on protecting the user.
