The two levels for the factor “layer #” are 2 layers (low) and 4 layers (high)
The two levels for the factor “exhaust #” are 1 exhaust port (low) and 2 exhaust ports (high)
Data will be taken in measurements of “% filtration efficiency”
Based on testing done by NIHB, test must be performed in worst possible conditions. This would include large turbulent stream and large amounts of particulate matter for extended periods of time. In the experiment previously referenced, the number of microorganisms is isolated from coughs of healthy people and then compared by using air sampling techniques

It is clear that by having x2 be low, we can minimize variation. Therefore, there should only be one exhaust.
Main Effects:



In order to minimize the number of defects, x2 should be a low setting. Therefore, to limit defects there should only be two layers of fiber material.
